A few weeks ago 5OK were asked the question, if you were transported back in time to the 1800s to be a bushranger in Australia, which one would you be? They needed to research four bushrangers, present a poster on their findings and decide which bushranger they would be.
Write a comment sharing with us which bushranger you chose and why. If you are not in 5OK but would like to share with us which bushranger you would be feel free to leave a comment aswell.

Tomorrow the Year fives and sixes will be lucky enough to experience the musical talents of students from Ringwood Secondary School. I am looking forward to it. If you already learn, or would like to learn an instrument when you go to secondary school, write a comment and let us know.

Share your opinion of the changes to water restrictions with everyone. Do you think it is a good idea to move from Stage Four to Stage One?

This week 65 Year Five students traveled to Melbourne for a three day camp. We stayed at Urban Camp, which is near the zoo. During our camp we visited Melbourne Airport, The MCG, Parliament House, Victoria Market, The Shrine, The City Circle Tram, Melbourne Aquatic Centre, The Rialto, The Aquarium, The Arts Centre, The Racing Museum and The Mounted Police Branch.
It was a very, very busy camp! The people at the Urban Camp looked after all of us very well. All the children were very well behaved and all seemed to have a fabulous time. I enjoyed my time away with the Year Fives and would like to congratulate them on their excellent behaviour!
Have a safe and happy holiday everyone, see you next term!

Today the Year Fives and Sixes travelled to the Town Hall to listen to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra perform. We heard a range of different pieces of music, found out the different types of instruments that make up an orchestra and were entertained by an animated M.C. I, myself really enjoyed it. What did you think?

My friend Bill had an idea, he wanted us to go to the Goldfields and search for our fortune. Bill and I asked our mums and dads if we could go to the goldfields but they said no. The next night Bill threw a rock through the window I looked out the window and Bill was there, he said “Pack a bag, there is a horse and cart of my dad’s down the street; we can go to the gold fields in it…hurry up!” So I climbed out the window with a bag I packed. It was not the best ride we had it was a bumpy and rough because Bill was not a good horse and cart rider. In the morning my dad woke up and realised that I was not there. I know where he has gone he thought, he has gone to the goldfields.
After a long and tiring trip Bill and I arrived at the gold fields in Ballarat. I found this good spot to put the tent up beside a creek. It took us ages to set camp up. `That night we had some lamb for tea and we ate it up pretty fast. The next day we started to dig for gold and it was not easy, the ground was very hard, I dug a little trench. By the end of a long day I had only found a little rusted bucket. “Better luck tomorrow” said Bill. It took me ages to get to sleep that night because the noise was so loud from the drunken people. The next day Bill and I discovered that it had rained over night. I had a look down the trench and saw a middle size piece of gold. We picked it up and quickly ran out of town to our horse and cart and went on our way home…
My dad was sitting on his chair when he suddenly heard a horse and cart coming down the road. He looked out the window and saw me, he ran out of the house with excitement and he gave me a big hug, it even chocked me. He said “Did you find anything?” “Yes” I snapped “We found a middle size nugget. In the trench I made. Me and bill have decided to split it”. We did split the nugget and we lived a good life with a lot of money.

Hi everyone,
Very scary to think that we are now almost half way through Term Three. The year is going by very quickly. I thought I would write a post reminding people about important dates this term.
This week Parent Teacher Interviews are taking place, the first afternoon was yesterday and the rest of interviews will be on Thursday.
On Friday all Year 5 and 6s will travel by bus to the Town Hall to listen to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. This should be fantastic!
Next Thursday, the 20th August is the Senior Athletics Day. For the past three weeks the Year Fives have been practicing their athletic skills. Good luck to everyone.
On the 24th August at 6pm there is a Parent Information Night in regards to the Human Development Program. Please make sure that you bring your permission form back to school ASAP.
Start thinking about whether or not you would like to be a part of the Talent Quest. You can take an entry form from me and start organising your act. The heats will begin soon.
And finally (at the moment) our annual Year Five camp to Melbourne will commence on Monday 14th Sepetember. How exciting!!
Remember to always make wise choices at school, this includes in the classroom and in the playground. Your choices determine how well you do at school in many, many ways.
